Shaw requires the use of seam sealer on all carpet products with the exception of carpet tile. Shaw 8300 is a polymer-fortified, nonflammable seam sealer recommended for sealing cut edges of broadloom to prevent raveling, and provides a moisture impervious seam when applied properly.

Although the adhesive is freeze/thaw stable, protect containers from freezing in transit and storage. Provide for heated storage on site and deliver all materials at least 24 hours before work begins.

APPLICATION
- Prepare carpet according to Shaw Industries Installation Guidelines.
- Apply a bead of seam sealer along the carpet primary backing on one side of the carpet applicator tip provided with the bottle.
- Complete the seam by butting both sections of the carpet together while the seam sealer is still wet (within 5 to 10 minutes).
CLEAN UP
To remove smears of seam sealer from the carpet surface within 10 minutes use a clean cloth wet with soapy water. Do not apply soapy water directly on carpet. Clean with mineral spirits once dried. Use caution with mineral spirits which may be harmful to some materials.
