THE FOLLOWING WARRANTY IS NOT VALID UNLESS THE WARRANTY REGISTRATION PAGE (LAST PAGE) IS SIGNED AND RETURNED TO SHAW INDUSTRIES, INC.

2) THE WARRANTY REGISTRATION PAGE (LAST PAGE) IS SIGNED and aPpROVED BY DEALER/INSTALLER
3) it has been issued by a shaw representative
Shaw Industries, Inc. (“Company”) warrants the performance of the below described flooring products installed on high moisture concrete subfloors (both below and on grade) in accordance with the terms of this warranty when the following conditions are met:
1. The substrate/concrete must be “bare”, free from adhesives, patch, mud beds, grease and other contaminates. Concrete with any densifier or hardener application may require a second application of Surface Prep EXT.
2. The required substrate testing for moisture must be performed by a certified third-party moisture testing company such as IFTI or an ICRI Certified Concrete Slab Moisture Technician – Grade 1 (Tier 2). The required test methods include ASTM F-2170 (in-situ Relative Humidity), ASTM F1869 (Moisture Vapor Emission) and ASTM F-710 (Alkalinity).
3. In order to have coverage under this warranty, the following combination of products must be used for the system warranty based on the moisture test results:
- Concrete with %RH <99%, MVER </=10, pH < 11
- Apply Shaw Approved Patch / Skim Coat as necessary for patch/skim coat.
- Install flooring with Shaw 4151* adhesive.
- Concrete with %RH </= 100%, MVER </= 12, pH </=12
- Apply Shaw Surface Prep EXT followed by Shaw Moisture Shield.
- Apply Shaw Approved Patch / Skim Coat as necessary for patch/skim coat.
- Install flooring with Shaw 4151* adhesive.
- Concrete with %RH </= 100%, MVER </= 17, pH </=14
- Apply Surface Prep
- Apply Shaw Moisture Shield.
- Apply MRP
- Apply Shaw Approved Patch / Skim Coat as necessary for patch/skim coat.
- Install flooring with Shaw 4151* adhesive
- Concrete with %RH </= 100%, MVER </= 25, pH </=14
- Apply Shaw Surface Prep EXT followed by Shaw MoistureTek.
- Apply Shaw Approved Patch / Skim Coat as necessary for patch/skim coat.
- Install flooring with Shaw 4151* adhesive.
Use of Shaw QuikFill is required for concrete subfloor preparation of cracks, control joints, contraction joints and saw cuts.
*The Shaw 4151 adhesive is approved to be used with LVP/LVT, sheet vinyl, and carpet tile.
4. Products must be installed by an installer who has been trained by the Shaw Technical Support team on application of these moisture products. Approved installer must sign the Warranty Registration page.
5. An authorized Shaw dealer/installer has verified that the chemicals have been applied in accordance to the Company’s installation guidelines and has signed the Warranty Registration page.
Once the above conditions have been met, the warranty, issued by a Shaw representative, belongs to the original end-use purchaser. The moisture system warranty begins when the products are purchased and extends for 10 years for the original installation. The warranty is further limited to the period of time the moisture system installation is owned and maintained by the original end-use purchaser. The basis of any warranty-related claim is the original Company or authorized dealer invoice.
The moisture remediation products and the Company’s flooring products must be installed in accordance with the Company’s Moisture Remediation and product installation guidelines and specifications. The product must be maintained in accordance with the Company’s cleaning and maintenance guidelines and such product care must continue throughout the duration of the original installation. Damage resulting from a failure to follow installation and cleaning/maintenance guidelines will not be covered under this warranty. WHAT THE WARRANTY COVERS
To receive the following coverage, the products should be installed in the proper fit for use, indoor commercial environments. See a Company representative for details on the proper fit for use environments. The products should be used within the product shelf life. Warranty coverage extends for the duration of this warranty.
Broadloom & Carpet Tile,

Fiber Abrasive Wear – Carpet, using our approved face fiber, will lose no more than 10% of the pile face fiber, by weight. This warranty does not cover appearance retention, matting and crushing and normal appearance changes.

Static Protection – This carpet will not generate static build-up in excess of 3.5 kV, during the warranty period as tested by AATCC Test Method 134.

Stain – Carpet made exclusively with 100% Solution-dyed yarn will resist permanent stains caused by spills of all acid base substances.

Colorfastness to Light and Atmospheric Contaminants - Carpet made exclusively with 100% Solution-dyed yarn will not display a significant change in color due to exposure to light or exposure to atmospheric contaminants (Ozone or Oxides of Nitrogen).

Tuft bind/Zippering – This backing system will provide superior tuft bind properties.

Integrity/Delamination - This backing will not delaminate from the face carpet.

Edge Ravel – This carpet will not edge ravel.

Integrity/Dimensional Stability – This backing will provide dimensional stability, per the AACHEN Test.
LVT/LVP

Manufacturing Defects – The Company warrants that the resilient product will be free from manufacturing defects during the period of this warranty. Manufacturing defects include delamination, core voids, thickness variation, and dimensional stability defects. Dimensional stability related defects are defined as dimensional changes in the width and/or length of the product greater than the tolerances as defined in ISO 23999. Thickness variation is defined as thickness exceeding the thickness tolerance as defined in ASTM F386.

Wear – The Company warrants, during the period of the warranty, wear due to normal foot traffic will not wear through to the pattern layer of the product.
Resilient Sheet

Manufacturing Defects – The Company warrants that the resilient product will be free from manufacturing defects during the period of this warranty. Manufacturing defects include delamination, core voids, thickness variation, and dimensional stability defects. Dimensional stability related defects are defined as dimensional changes in the width and/or length of the product greater than the tolerances as defined in ISO 23999. Thickness variation is defined as thickness exceeding the thickness tolerance as defined in ASTM F386.

Wear – The Company warrants, during the period of the warranty, wear due to normal foot traffic will not wear through to the pattern layer of the product.

Top Down Moisture – The Company warrants that for the stated warranty period, the structural integrity of the sheet will not be significantly diminished by exposure to water. While moisture will not affect the floor’s integrity, it is probable that, when excessive moisture accumulates in buildings or on building materials, mold (and/or) mildew growth can occur (particularly if the moisture problem remains undiscovered or unaddressed). Damage caused by mold and/or mildew growth, excessive moisture, hydrostatic pressure, floods, and standing water from leaky pipes is excluded from this warranty. This warranty does not cover: damage to surrounding structure, walls, subfloor, fixtures, furniture, underlayment, moldings, trims, subfloor heating elements, or anything not on the floor plank or tile; damage resulting from mold and mildew growth due to prolonged exposure to moisture; or flooring installed outdoors.

Manufacturing Defects – The Company warrants that the floor plank or tile will be free from manufacturing defects during the period of this warranty when installed in light to moderate foot traffic environments. Manufacturing defects include delamination, core voids, thickness variation, and dimensional stability defects. Dimensional stability related defects are defined as dimensional changes in the width and/or length of the product greater than the tolerances as defined in ISO 23999. Thickness variation is defined as thickness exceeding the thickness tolerance as defined in ASTM F3261.

Wear – The vinyl layer of the floor plank is warranted not to wear through under light commercial use during the period of this warranty. Gloss reduction, scratches and dents in the finish are not considered surface wear and are not covered under the warranty. Wear through is defined as wear due to light to moderate foot traffic will not wear through to the pattern layer of the product.

Top Down Moisture – The Company warrants that for the stated warranty period, the structural integrity of the floor plank or tile will not be significantly diminished by exposure to surface moisture. No Acclimation – The Company warrants the floor plank or tile can be installed without allowing the product to achieve room temperature as long as the building where product will be installed is acclimated and climate controlled as according to the installation guidelines.

Manufacturing defects include delamination, core voids, thickness variation, and dimensional stability defects. Dimensional stability related defects are defined as dimensional changes in the width and/or length of the product greater than the tolerances as defined in ASTM F2199. Thickness variation is defined as thickness exceeding the thickness tolerance as defined in ASTM F3261.

WHAT CONDITIONS APPLY?

Heavy duty felt chair protectors (for resilient) and chair pads (for carpet) are recommended to inhibit premature wear of the surface of the product.
This warranty does not cover the following:
-
For carpet products, general soiling, discoloration, appearance change due to pile distortion, and exposure to substances or contaminates which degrade or destroy nylon yarn or the color of the carpet; carpet which has been surface treated with materials not recommended by Shaw or which have been subjected to abnormal use or to cleaning agents or maintenance methods not recommended or approved by Shaw; carpet installed on stairs or in areas subject to abnormal foot-traffic use (i.e. golf spikes, other spiked footwear, ski boots, and the like); damage from flooding and burns, cuts, fading, matting, pills, pulls, odor, soiling, staining, tears or damage due to improper installation or due to improper cleaning agents or methods. In order to make a claim under this guarantee, the owner must have attempted to remove the stain within (3) three working days after occurrence of the spill using cleaning procedures as recommended by Shaw and must notify Shaw immediately if stain removal is not successful.

For LVT/LVP and sheet products, the warranty does not cover the following: damage caused by improper installation and/or maintenance; differences in color between products and samples or photographs; damage from flooding; indentation from improper loading including heavy static loads, high heels, spiked shoes, rolling loads, chairs or other furniture not using floor protectors; discoloration, including but not limited to U.V. light and heat sources; surface scratches, changes in shading, texture and/or gloss during use; damage caused by chemically reactive material, dye, mold, stains, spillage, burns, gouges, scratches, indentations, floods, accidents, abuse or any harsh scouring pads while buffing; and/or damage due to thermal heat sources.

For WPC and SPC products, the warranty does not cover the following: damage caused by improper installation and/or maintenance; differences in color between products and samples or photographs; problems arising from excessive moisture, alkali or water pressure from the sub floor, floods, indentation from improper loading including heavy static loads, high heels, spiked shoes, rolling loads, chairs or other furniture not using floor protectors; cracking, warping, soiling, fading, improper maintenance or abuse caused by items such as roller skates and/or golf shoes; surface scratches, changes in shading, texture and/or gloss during use; damage caused by chemically reactive material, adhesive or tape, dye, mold, stains, spillage, burns, gouges, scratches, indentations, accidents, abuse or any harsh scouring pads while buffing; damage due to damage due to U.V. light, thermal heat sources or damage to the floor caused by exposure to temperatures above 100°F (38°C) or is exposed to temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
WHAT IF YOU NEED WARRANTY SERVICES
You, the original purchaser, will contact your authorized dealer or Company sales representative for claim service. Please provide a valid proof of purchase, moisture testing from a third-party and a detailed description of the issue, along with photographs showing the concern. Samples should be submitted for review/testing when available. The dealer or Company sales representative will file a claim via www.ShawNow.com and submit the information you provided. WHAT WE WILL DO
If we find a defect covered under this warranty, we will repair the affected area to its original condition. The Company will pay the reasonable costs for product, freight and labor. Any costs incurred for moving equipment, furnishings, partitions and the like that were installed over the Company’s moisture system will be at the customer’s expense.
Replacement material will come only from current running line products comparable to the warranted product.
NOTE: The warranty is not transferable. It extends only to the original end use purchaser. Shaw Industries Inc. does not grant to any person or entity the authority to create for it any obligation or liability in connection with this product. Please note the individual products carry their own product warranty, however the coverage of this system warranty supersedes the coverage of any other product warranties. Shaw Industries Inc. shall not be liable to the consumer or any other person or entity for any incidental, special or consequential damages, arising out of breach of this limited warranty or any implied limited warranty (excluding merchantability).
All implied warranties, including an implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are hereby limited to the duration of this limited warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of implied warranties or the limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to the purchaser. This warranty gives the purchaser specific legal rights, such rights may vary from State to State.
