3 IN 1 Ultra adhesive
DESCRIPTION
3 IN 1 Ultra is a one component, 100% solids, cross-linking, MS polymer based adhesive. Formulated for interior installations of engineered hardwood products and mineral core products.
3 IN 1 Ultra can be used as a moisture control adhesive for engineered wood products only, when applied with the appropriate trowel that is supplied in the adhesive pail.
APPROVED SUBSTRATES
-
For interior use only.
-
Wood Association approved wood underlayment and subflooring. See Resilient Wood Substrate Information Sound and properly prepared concrete (on, above or below grade), metal, wood fiberglass and terrazzo.
-
Concrete must be at least 45 days old prior to apply 3 IN 1 Ultra adhesive.
-
Existing resilient products should be over 1 year old, secure and fully adhered with a full spread of adhesive. Remove all waxes and polishes from the existing floor before installation.
SUBSTRATE TESTING
3 IN 1 Ultra adhesive does not react to moisture and does not have moisture limits or pH limits associated with the adhesive.
3 IN 1 Ultra is approved for mineral core flooring and engineered wood flooring. Per the installation guidelines for each product, moisture testing and pH testing must be performed, product limits are listed below.

For older slabs or slabs with a prior history of moisture related issues, Shaw Technical Support recommends moisture mitigation in the form of a 2-part epoxy system, such as MoistureTEK.
For newer slabs with an intact moisture retarder, initial moisture levels should recede over time.
NOTE: For engineered wood installations only, by using the 3/16” x 1/4” x 1/2” flat v notch trowel with spacers, moisture and pH testing is not required.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
-
Substrate must be structurally sound, clean, level and dry.
-
Substrate must be free of dust, dirt, oil, grease, paint, curing agents, concrete sealers, adhesives, loosely bonded toppings, loose particles and any other substance or condition that may prevent or reduce adhesion.
-
Do not use over substrates containing asbestos or active cutback adhesive.
-
Fill depressions or cracks with a cementitious patching / leveling compound that meet or exceed Shaw Industries maximum moisture level and pH requirements. Use of gypsum-based patching and/or leveling compounds which contain Portland or high alumina cement and meet or exceed the compressive strength of 3,000 psi are acceptable.
-
For cracks and saw cuts deeper that 1”, Shaw QuickFil is recommended.
-
Installation site must be acclimated with HVAC in operation or the temperature must be controlled between 65-95O F (18- 35O C) and the ambient relative humidity controlled between 30-65% before, during and permanently after the installation.
-
Do not use over chemically abated substrates.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS AND SPREAD RATES FOR MINERAL CORE FLOORING
Read and follow the product specific installation guidelines for layout, design and any special instructions for installation.
-
Spread adhesive using the recommended trowel.
-
Spread adhesive evenly over substrate, keeping the trowel at a 45° angle to the substrate.
-
Once the adhesive is spread, immediately install the floor covering into the wet adhesive.

Due to spacer wear, replace the included trowel blade for every pail of LokWorx Multi-Use 3 IN 1 Ultra adhesive.
ADHESIVE APPLICATION NOTES
-
Coverage is approximate and will vary depending on porosity and roughness of the subfloor, angle at which the trowel is held, temperature of the adhesive and the subfloor, and the skill of the installer applying the adhesive.
-
Coverage can be lower over subfloors not properly prepared according to established industry guidelines.
